Henryk Lis studied sculpture with his brother Jan at the Fine Art Academy in Poznan before turning to design. Inspired by the Bauhaus aesthetics and the Scandinavian design of the period they mainly created furniture for the local market. John emigrated to Austrailia in 1968, whilst Henryk Remained in Poland and continued to create and exhibit furniture and design.
